Promo codes are a great tool to use when you want to offer a special discount and now you can create a promo code that can only be used in your app!  If you have been wanting to run a special promotion for those clients that place orders via your app, an App Only Promo Code is what you need!  Check out the steps below for how to create that promo code.


How to create an app only promo code


Click the steps below for a detailed walk-through:

    Step 1: Click the Business tab 

    Step 2: Click the Shopping Cart tab 

    Step 3: Click "Create Your First Promo Code" 

    Step 4: Enter in a Display Name and code 

    Step 5: Choose a start and end date, if any 

    Step 6: Choose max uses per client and promo code, if any 

    Step 7: Choose to discount an amount or percentage 

    Step 8: Enter in discount amount 

    Step 9: Select which products to apply discount to 

    Step 10: Click 'For App Use Only' checkbox

    Step 11: Click "Save Updates" 


Step-by-step:


Step 1: Click the Business tab at the top of the page.



Step 2: Click the Shopping Cart tab on the left-hand side. 


Step 3: Scroll down to the Promo Codes section and click the "Create Your First Promo Code" button.

 


Step 4: Enter in a Display Name, which will appear on client orders and invoices.  Then, enter in what the actual code will be that your clients will type in during their order.



Step 5: Enter in the start and end dates for your promo code.  If you are creating the code for a future promotion, you can enter a date in the future for the promo code to start working.  If it will be a limited time promotion, you can also enter in a date for the promo code to no longer work.



Step 6: Set a maximum number of uses per client or per promo.  This is helpful if you are looking to only provide a certain number of discounts to each client or for each promo code.



Step 7: In the Promo Type drop-down menu, select whether you would like to give a certain dollar amount for the discount or a percentage.


Step 8: If choosing to discount an amount, enter in the dollar amount in the Amount Off box.  If you are discounting a percentage, enter in the percentage amount and a max discount amount (if needed).



Step 9: In the Apply To drop-down menu, choose whether to apply the discount to All Products or Selected Products Below.  If choosing Selected Products Below, check which products you want to apply the discount to.


Step 10: Click the 'For App Use Only' checkbox.


Step 11: Click the "Save Updates" button to create your promo code.  Clients you provide this code to will now be able to use it on their order during checkout. Note: if a client tries to use this promo code via desktop or a mobile browser, they will receive an 'Invalid Promo Code' message. This promo code will only work in your mobile app.
