When setting up your business with HDPhotoHub, you may find that you would like to use your own domain instead of the default domain that HDPhotoHub provides. This is absolutely possible! When doing this, you can choose to use a full domain or a subdomain. If you have an existing business website, then a subdomain is the best option. Otherwise, purchasing a domain to use exclusively with your HDPhotoHub account is a good option! Check out the steps below on how to connect your subdomain or domain.
Choose your domain option for step-by-step instructions:
How to set up your subdomain
Click the steps below for a detailed walk-through:
Step 1:Click the Business tab
Step 2:Click the Domains tab
Step 3:Enter domain in 'Add a Domain' field
Step 4: Click 'Add New Domain'
Step 5: Click the 'Set Up' button
Step 6: Add CNAME record to DNS Host
Step 7: Click 'Check Now' button
Step-by-step:
Step 1: Click the Business tab at the top of the page.
Step 2: Click the Domains tab on the left-hand side of the page.
Step 3: In the 'New Business Domain/Subdomain Name' field, enter in your subdomain name.
The subdomain name you choose will be used when delivering media back to your clients, single property website URLs, linking to your order page, and linking client to log into their portal. The most prominent display of the subdomain is when the URL for downloading images or viewing a property website are displayed in your delivery emails. We recommend using a subdomain that works best for these purposes. For example, view.yourcompanyname.com or sites.yourcompanyname.com.
Step 4: Click the 'Add New Domain' button.
Step 5: Once your subdomain is added to the Domain Names list, click the 'Set Up' button in the Configuration column.
Step 6: To complete the setup for your subdomain, you will need to add the CNAME records for the subdomain at your DNS Host. Here are some Help Articles on adding a CNAME on commonly used DNS Hosts:
- GoDaddy
- Google Domains
- Wix
- If you don't see your host listed, try Googling "Adding A CNAME in YOUR DNS HOST NAME" for instructions or reach out to your domain provider. Typically your DNS Host will be the company that you purchased your domain name from.
Step 7: Return to the domains page and click the 'Check Now' button. Once your CNAME changes have fully propagated, you will see two green checkmarks under the HTTP and HTTPS columns on the Domains page. This can take up to 48 hours. Note: if you see two red X's when clicking 'Check Now', it's possible that the domain changes haven't fully propagated. We recommend giving it some more time and checking back later.
