When you purchase a custom domain name through HDPhotoHub for your client to use on their property site, that domain will expire after 1 year.  If you allow your clients to renew the domain name on their end, they will see that option on their Dashboard page within 30 days of the expiration date.  Occasionally, however, the domain will expire before the client has had a chance to renew it.  When a domain expires, there is a specific timeline that happens for the expiration before it is able to be purchased again by someone else.  In some instances, HDPhotoHub is still able to obtain that domain for renewal.

Understanding the domain timeline

Active - the domain name is within it's 1 year activation timeline and has not year reached the expiration date.

Deactivated - the domain name has reached the expiration date.  For the first 30 days after expiration, HDPhotoHub can manually renew the domain for your client at the normal domain price of 25 credits.

Redemption - from 30 to 90 days after the domain has expired, HDPhotoHub may be able to renew the domain name.  In this period, the price of renewal can vary.

Pending Delete - from 90 to 95 days after the domain has expired, the domain is in the process of being deleted and cannot be renewed or purchased by anyone.

Available for Purchase - after about 95 days, the domain is available to be purchased by anyone.

Renewing an expired domain

Based on the domain timeline, if the domain has expired within the last 90 days, HDPhotoHub may be able to renew that domain name for you and your client.  In some instances, the cost to renew may be higher than our normal domain rate of 25 credits.  If the domain has expired within the last 90 days, please reach out to our Support team for renewal availability!
